Our Team

In 2012, African graduate students – Misan Rewane, Karan Chopra, Bryan Mezue and Navid Rahimi – sat in a room at the Harvard Innovation Lab and brainstormed ways to address the disenfranchisement of African youths back home. The seeds that were planted grew over the next year to become WAVE Hospitality Academy. Our team is passionate about solving a ‘skills gap’ problem that plagues most West African countries, and reversing the threats of unemployment and disillusionment.

Being West Africans themselves, the WAVE team understands the local operating context, brings strong execution experience in the region and is passionate about making a difference in expanding social mobility opportunities for their West African counterparts.
