WHAT THE EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT SYSTEM WOULD LOOK LIKE IN THE FUTURE

Nigeria's unemployment rate, which jumped from 18% to 23% between 2017 and 2018, has been disproportionately borne by the youth, with almost 30% of them currently out of work.

This situation is likely to worsen, as there is no shortage of factors contributing to the increase in youth unemployment; one of them being the education system.

In order to effect meaningful institutional and industry change, work readiness must become a core objective of educators and this begins with an in-depth understanding of the graduate supply chain and stakeholders, i.e., its direct and indirect influencers.

We have also worked on the Competency-Based Education and Learning (CBEL) Report which provides valuable insights and communicates the highlights and findings from the different stakeholders in the education system.

The report outlines how educators, parents, regulators and other stakeholders are thinking about the skills mismatch challenge that exists between the education system and the employment system.

You can read the details of the report here

Ifeoluwa's admirer❤️
Her story is inspiring. I feel motivated. She is a young girl who at a tender age knows what she wants and she is working towards becoming her dreams.

I really love the transformation that Wave is causing in the lives of the young people. Mary's experience just stands out. She is more equipped to live. This and more is what young girls especially need to compete favorably in Nigeria. Apart from the people that are in Lagos state, how can youths from other states participate in this training? How much does the training cost? Before I go, I really appreciate the leadership of West African Vocational Education. God richly bless you. Thank.
